There are many resource online to help the home buyer to search for their perfect property. Zoopla are one of the bigger online property portals and accumulate data from house sale sights as well as user generated information. It also tracks house price data over time and allows you to value your property against trends in and around your area. Of course nothing can beat real local expertise from an Estate Agent who knows your area and can give you a “real world” considered opinion of your house when compared to other houses for sale in the local market.
Zoopla is, according to their own website blurb; “Zoopla Ltd, a privately held company whose shareholders include A&N Media (a division of the Daily Mail and General Trust), leading venture capital firms Atlas Venture and Octopus Ventures and a handful of well-respected angel investors. The company has a highly-experienced management team, led by Founder & CEO, Alex Chesterman.”
Ove the years the site has developed and is recognised as one of the leading property portals, it has a number of differentiating features;
The usual “For sale” section
As well as “To rent”
“Current values” provides you with a handy Bordon/Whitehill local property price guide, although Mouseprice can help with this too
Sold prices – recent and historical sales prices
Find Estate Agents – to help you find Estate Agents
Overseas – Property from across the water!
Property advice – useful help and advice on buying and selling property
Quite and interesting feature is the “Agent appraisal” section which you may be thinking is an “Estate Agent” scoring or review service, but no… You input your property details and they simply show you a list of Agents in your area.
This was the results returned for our postcode.
Kingswood Estate Agents, Bordon
Bourne Estate Agents T/A Goodeve & Partners, Alton
Hamptons, Liphook
Gascoigne Pees, Alton
SCR Lettings, Grayshott
Quite disappointing really as one of the results is Lettings only and the form specifically says “appraisal on your property” but worse than this they fail to mention 3 Estate Agents with office directly in Bordon.
Bushnell Porter Estate Agent
Chapplins Estate Agent
Strudwick Property Service
And several other agents that also cover the area not least one of our favourite online Estate agents
Check4Houses Online Estate Agents
All in all we think that they are a 3.5 Stars out of 5 Estate Agents supplementary service, a useful online resource to be used in conjunction with other services. We’re sure that the database of Estate Agents will grow but we also hope it will become more accurate.
